Victims of Crime and Abuse of Power

The International Victimology Website (IVW) was launched June 1999 as a resource for all those interested in improving justice for victims of crime and abuse of power. Through IVW, the UN Center for International Crime Prevention, the World Society of Victimology and the Research and Documentation Center of the Netherlands Ministry of Justice (site host) aim to promote the UN Declaration of Basic Principles of Justice for Victims of Crime and Abuse of Power. IVW features two databases (ongoing victimology research and promising practices in victim services and victimization prevention), a document and publications hosting page (including the UN Handbook on Justice for Victims), links to other victimology resources on the Internet and a victimology news page/bulletin board.
