Paragraphs 22 and 23 should read
22. The Raoul Wallenberg Institute, together with the Swedish international development cooperation agency, has been organizing an academic programme on dissemination of human rights standards and democratic values for developing countries since 1991 and for central and eastern Europe since 1994.
23. As a part of this programme the Raoul Wallenberg Institute, in 1994 and 1995, organized a course entitled "Equal Status and Human Rights of Women". The course focuses on human rights and gender issues, international standards of equality and policies aimed at enhancing gender equality. The course covers human rights protection of women in all pertinent areas, thus encompassing civil and political and economic and social rights, as well as relevant issues relating to humanitarian law. It not only provides participants with an overview of international human rights standards and procedures, but also includes policies aimed at enhancement of gender equality, parliamentary democratization and women-in-development. Emphasis is placed on the question of various methods to disseminate human rights and to develop a sound knowledge of human rights, as well as establishing a basis for further human rights training on the national level. The programme is interdisciplinary and involves aspects of law, the social sciences, as well as transdisciplinary areas of development and democratization. It is open for participants from developing countries and is primarily designed for women's organizations, senior staff members of government agencies responsible for equality and gender issues and researchers dealing with gender and related issues. The Raoul Wallenberg Institute is planning to hold the course in 1996 as well. Other courses and activities in humanitarian law, focusing on women in armed conflicts, are also being planned.
